Coaching
What Is Coaching?
• Results oriented partnership helping people see where they are and where they want to go with encouragement, support & resources along the way.
• Assumption that coachee is whole and resourceful, their own authority for change, and that the client will hold themselves accountable.
What Do People Usually Want To Be Coached About?
• Personal challenges and frustrations. Problems with relationships, health, finances, work, etc. cause us to get out of balance and perhaps feel overwhelmed. Life transitions sometimes create chaos, lack of direction and focus.
• Boundaries can get blurred, particularly for women, between their career life and home life with one or the other dominating. They can be left with a longing for more "homemaker" time or get overwhelmed with trying to "do it all."
• Life Dissatisfaction. Any part of life that isn't satisfying is grist for the coaching mill with the exception of mental illness or issues that would best be suited for psychotherapy. In these cases, referrals for psychotherapy will be given.
